Henry County Man Sentenced To 17 Years In Federal Prison

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – United States Attorney Kevin G. Ritz announced Wednesday a Buchanan man was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release on drug trafficking and firearms charges.

50-year-old Gary Osborne was sentenced on Tuesday by United States Chief District Judge S. Thomas Anderson.

According to the information presented in court, on August 15, 2018, members of the Henry County Metro Crime Unit executed a search warrant at Osborne’s residence. Officers located methamphetamine, digital scales, more than $5200 in cash, and a .243 rifle. As a result of his extensive felony history, Osborne is prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms and ammunition.

Osborne pled guilty to ownership of the narcotics and the rifle.

This case was investigated by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, Paris Police Department, and the Puryear Police Department.
