Holladay Man Sentenced To 14 Years For Meth Possession

Share

JACKSON, Tenn. – United States Attorney Kevin G. Ritz announced today a Holladay man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison on meth possession charges.

A news release says 41-year-old Jonathan Wayne Green was charged with possession of over 50 grams of actual methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

According to the information presented in court, on April 16, 2019, a Camden police officer responded to a trespassing complaint in a restricted area at Camden General Hospital. The officer observed a pickup truck that matched the description given by the complaint. The officer conducted a traffic stop after the truck drove into a nearby McDonald’s parking lot. The driver was identified as Jonathan Wayne Green.

Green appeared to be nervous while talking with the officer and confessed that he was on state probation and that he had a large amount of methamphetamine in the backseat of his truck. A search of the truck revealed over a pound of methamphetamine (which was individually wrapped in three separate smaller bags inside of a larger Ziplock bag), cash, and drug paraphernalia. He admitted to selling methamphetamine earlier that night.

United States District Judge S. Thomas Anderson sentenced Green to 168 months imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

This case was investigated by the Camden Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
