Man Accused Of Shooting Police Officer Arrested

ERIN, Tenn.- Police have arrested the subject of a statewide Blue Alert.

32-year-old BJ Brown was arrested Wednesday morning after being accused of shooting an Erin police officer.

Erin Police say Bown was found on Clay Tomlinson Road.

Brown has also been linked to a murder in New Orleans.

The TBI says shortly after 9 p.m. Monday, Erin police officer Darrell Tiebor attempted to make a traffic stop of a driver on Highway 149 near Substation Loop. Brown pulled over in a parking area in the 300-block of Highway 149 and got out of his vehicle.

Tiebor instructed the man to return to his vehicle, and Brown fired into his squad car. Tiebor returned fire, and the man ran into a wooded area, still carrying a firearm.

Tiebor was transported by helicopter to a Nashville hospital and is in stable condition.
