Bassmaster Junior National Championship Won’t Return To Carroll County

Share

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. – It was made official last week that the Bassmaster Junior National Championship won’t return to the Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreational Lake this year.

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce said in a Facebook post on Thursday that Bassmaster’s decision is due to the desire to have over 120 boats in a tournament. The Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreational Lake can only support 80 to 100 boats.

The chamber went on to say it has requested consideration for another tournament and is exploring other options with other fishing organizations.

“We have enjoyed a great working relationship with Bassmaster and wish them the best, ” said Chamber President Brad Hurley. “Our decade-old relationship with Bassmaster and friends we have made from other states have been a source of great pride for all of us.”
