Two Bodies Found Along Cumberland River In Stewart County

STEWART COUNTY, Tenn.- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has released the names of the two who were found dead after a boat capsized on the Cumberland River in Stewart County early Tuesday morning.

 

47-year-old Michael Mabes and 43-year-old Cynthia Taylor, both of Woodlawn, were pronounced dead on the scene. Neither of them were wearing a lifejacket at the time.

 

Stewart County deputies, EMS, and Fire and Rescue responded around 3:30 a.m. this morning to a capsized boat in the Cumberland City Steam Plant area.

 

The TWRA says the investigation is still ongoing. This is the eighth boating fatality in Tennessee this year.
