Shirley Ann Markham
The sun rose and the world welcomed Shirley Ann Baker Markham on Oct. 16, 1945, a day the world became a little brighter. Born to the late Orin Newton Baker and Winifred Lovey Cowell Baker, Shirley, a unique and fancy individual touched the lives of all that knew her. She was also preceded in death by a brother Larry Baker. Shirley attended Moler’s Beauty School in Memphis and was a beauty therapist and hair stylist for over 40 years. She was the best in the business. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed fishing, painting, and putting a smile on everyone’s face. “Sam” is on her next great journey.
Survived by: Son John David Markham of Brentwood, Tenn.; Daughter Tracey Cooper of Camden, Tenn.; Sisters Norma Jean Pettyjohn of Camden, Tenn., Janet (W.C.) Trull of Camden, Tenn., Rhonda (Jeff) Jordan of Camden, Tenn.; Grandchildren Ashley Cooper, Amy Cooper, Addie Markham, Reese Markham, Cole Markham; Great Granddaughter Amora Willis; Very Special Friend Don Bowman
Plans are being made for a celebration of life to honor our Sam at a later date. Instead of flowers, we would hope that you would do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness in Sam’s name.
